Attention

The wars currently going on in the middle east are disturbing to me for a number of reasons, but the reaction in America bothers me in other ways. From a lack of proper news coverage to legal walkarounds for corrupt politicians in the face of the justice system to the general naivety of the American Dream of the suburbs, there are many levels of involvement to take into consideration. This book digests the views of an individual, from the joys of living in a super power and what it means to live in a nation with so much blood on it's hands through the discontent with witnessing secondhand such a massive loss of life.

The book is in three parts; the spoils of war, the constructs of war, and the attention of war. However, each section was also meant to discuss what attention means to us all on a personal level and how that selfishness has caused such a global nightmare within human rights in the shadow of a capitalist empire.
