Love Songs For The Tone Deaf
Love Songs is based around the fact that I love music and cannot myself identify notes. I noticed on Wikipedia that most 'normal' people are able to maintain pitch and accuracy, and the idea of being somehow deformed at something I hold so dear really bothered me. I developed this book as a record of sorts, twenty-three songs sung in two-page spreads. Each song has something to do with the process of falling in and out of love and the isolation that comes with both being alone and in a relationship. The lack of typography is an intentional choice to use visuals as sound with only subtle hints as to the concept of each piece.
