Knife In A Gunfight
A series of 12 paintings, the title
Knife In A Gunfight is a simple reflection that, upon looking at the series after I'd finished it, art in the modern world is not really a dangerous thing. The more significant art of our time has, in some form, been financed by an entity that most likely the artist is in some way speaking out against.
But at the core of each work is a more individual sentiment, from the bizarre standards of the FCC to the consistently aggrivating stereotyping of what people 'need' to be to achieve success, to simply making it through high school and getting to the age where all your friends start getting married.
A more detailed artist statement, as well as higher-resolution photos of the complete series, can be seen at
the Knife In A Gunfight mini-site.
