I’m heading to Portland for the long weekend; the photo of the day is set to auto-update and I might check in from the hotel, but if I remember correctly using WordPress on the iPad is a pain.

This is not only fantastic Friday music, but also makes me question whether or not I should see both nights of The Joy Formidable’s upcoming stint at The Independent. Rarely do I get drawn out of the crowd for a band I’ve never heard of, but when I first saw them at SXSW last year it was a mind-blowing set, and their subsequent pass through Bottom Of The Hill was quite memorable. All those testosterone led male-ego bands could learn a few things from this petite little blonde about how to truly rock out with your guitar.
